This page lists some articles about my work that have appeared in magazines and newsletters.

A highlight is “Bookworms Can ‘Read’ People Too,” which reports on work with Paula Niedenthal and our students about the link between reading fiction and recognize emotions. Sitting down with a good book is not at all a social act, and so it’s quite surprising that people who read a lot of fiction tend to be good at recognizing emotion on other people’s faces. We dig into why fiction helps train our emotional intelligence.
